Hailey participates in a ski program at Beaver Creek called BEAVO. I think that the only reason it is called this is because the sister progam at Vail is called DEVO which stands for Development. I used to see them skiing all over with their bibs on saying, "DEVO, Vail Skier Development Team" .
With that, BEAVO doesn't make much sense other than the fact that it rhymes. It is a program through the Ski School. The kids have 12 lessons with the same "coach" and kids beginning in December and finishing in March. This is Hailey's second year in the program and we have seen amazing growth in her as a skier. Not only has she developed her skills skiing, she has also learned mountian awareness, skier responsibility, and ski-cology (pick up trash when you see it, don't drop "stuff" from the lift, recycle, etc.). She has also had tons of fun.
On the last day, the coaches rally their groups into dressing crazy and just having a zany, fun ski day. Hailey's group really took it to the hilt.
Hanna worked so hard this year with the "bribe" that she could do BEAVO next year. It was so hard for her to see her sister and her cousins Eme and Sutton head off to ski and she was stuck skiing with Mommy and Daddy. She certainly took to the task. Hanna is skiing like a champ. Parallel turns and all. And although we love skiing with the girls and cherish our moments on the mountain with them, Mommy and Daddy are already looking forward to next year when BOTH girls head off with their coach and we can finally hit the slopes at full speed. It has been a long 5 years of snow plows!!! But, we wouldn't trade it for the world.
So far, Hailey and Gary have collected 20 days on the hill with Hanna right behind at 13. Mommy has been a slacker this year with 11 days. 
However, Spring Skiing is the best skiing, and I'm sure you can guess where you can find us at the end of March!
